OK, here goes. In order to keep an accurate, timely, and useful record of garden happenings, I am starting this blog.
This is my little patch of Earth (2010 Monroe County GIS image)
This year the question is, can I grow/raise enough food on it to support myself for a month or two over the summer?
I've made garden plans for 2011, but they may still vary (or improve).
So, that's the backyard sketch. T = tomato, of course. A big goal this year is to grow a lot of beans, so a lot of the area next to the fence will be used for them and also there will be a big bean teepee in the front yard.
More updates (and quantities) as they happen!
